Relationship - We want everything to be done out of relationship. The greatest commands God gives us is to love him, and to love others. We want to actualize this in all that we do.

Collaboration - We are committed to working together - with people here in the U.S. and people in Haiti to accomplish all God has planned.

Empowerment - We are committed to empowering people to help, and to helping people. We believe that the Haitian people are amazingly gifted, incredibly intelligent, and obviously capable - they just need, like all of us, the empowerment that comes from God's Holy Spirit. We hope to be a promoter of that empowerment.

Humility - We aren't better, our culture isn't better, we don't have the answers - as we work together with others, we discover that God wants to reveal to all of us the great qualities that he has given to each individual and culture we work with.

Our Vision

Beautiful Child is working with Faith Orphanage in Jacmel, Haiti to see the children’s basic daily needs met. All money given goes directly to the needs of the children. I would like to share with you about Beautiful Child. Beautiful Child is a Ministry of The Journey Community of Faith in Madison, WI.

Our Goal is to connect individuals with children around the world that are in need. Beautiful Child is working with Faith Orphanage in Jacmel, Haiti. We first met the children at Faith Orphanage in January 2006. It was difficult to see children in such great need. More than half of the children have parents but because of poverty, they are unable to provide for them. The parents brought them to the orphanage so they could have a better life. Unfortunately, this is far from the reality found there. At that time many of the children didn’t have mattresses or blankets, only a bed frame with cardboard over it. There was also no water at or near the orphanage. Take a minute to think about 35 children going without enough water to do things like bathing, washing clothes, etc. Most of the children wore the same clothes the entire two months we were there. It was also normal for them to go without food for up to a week at a time. Often the teachers working with them wouldn’t come because there wasn’t money to pay them. Our team bought mattresses and food. As we saw the needs of the children at the Orphanage we could also see that God wants something very different for them. We believe that if people come together we can make a difference in the children’s lives.

Since Spring 2007 Beautiful Child has been finding people to sponsor the children at the Orphanage. It has been a great blessing to see so many people responding to the needs of the Children. This last year there was money sent to pay the teachers, to buy food, water, power, along with donations of clothes, shoes and toys for the children. It is a blessing to see things began to change at the Orphanage. This also gives us great hope of what is to come.

Beautiful Child strongly believes that we have the power to change the course of History and bring hope to places that seem hopeless. The goal of Beautiful Child is to provide for the needs of today and hope for the future. Through your generosity the children at Faith Orphanage will have their basic needs met on a daily basis and will grow up with opportunity of a better life knowing God’s love and Faithfulness.

To fully provide for the needs at the orphanage, each child needs four sponsors donating $32 per month. Please consider sponsoring a child beginning today.
