History
Mandy first met the children at Faith Orphanage in January 2006 during a short-term missions trip. The needs of the children at that time were great. Many of the children didn't have mattresses--only a bed frame with cardboard over it. It was also normal for them to go without food for up to a week at a time. There was no water near the orphanage. The older children had to walk approximately two miles to a nearby river with a bucket inside a wheelbarrow to get water for drinking, cooking, bathing, washing clothes and dishes. Most of the children had only one pair of clothes. It was clear to Mandy that God wanted these children to have their needs met and that He wanted to do something big to bring change. When Mandy returned home, she spent time praying for God's provision for the children at the orphanage and God started giving her very detailed dreams about a sponsorship program and fundraiser for the children. She began to realize that God wanted to use her as a tool and in the process teach her more about His faithfulness.

Beautiful Child 2010
Beautiful Child will be expanding the leadership team and setting up a board. It is also our goal during this upcoming year to have the Orphanage fully funded raising $4,000 per month to care for the children.

• January- Beautiful Child will be hosting two mission’s trips. Mandy will be helping to set up things and working with the teams. Chris Sahlman is going to be moving to Haiti to work with the Orphanage.
• April- Hosting a mission’s team from California, coming to work with the kids at the Orphanage. This group will include a medical team that will do work with the children at the Orphanage and in the Community.

Beautiful Child 2009
Each month we have been able to send around $1,000 per month for the children at the Orphanage.
• January- Mission trip to Haiti 17 - people from 5 churches came to send time with the children. The team was able to build a swing set for the children, hosted a Vacation Bible School for the Orphanage and a Crusade for the community.
• April- Mandy was able to visit the children at the Orphanage. For the first time Mandy stayed with the children at the Orphanage it was a wonderful experience for her to see every part of their day.
• Summer- Steve shared at a church camp about the children in Haiti. An offering of $500.00 was taken by the 5th and 6th graders at the camp for the Orphanage.
• July-August- Mandy went to Haiti to check on the children at the Orphanage. On this trip she made lunch each day for the children at the Orphanage. It was a blessing for her to be able to care for them in this way.
• October- Steve and Chris took a group of pastors to Haiti. Each church that came took up an offering for the Orphanage raising a total of $3,000 for the Orphanage. With this money for the first time sense we started working with the Orphanage they had all there bills paid.

• December- Mandy will be going to Haiti to set up housing, transportation and ministry for the teams coming in January along with housing for Chris. Mandy will also be getting updated information about all the children at the Orphanage.
Beautiful Child 2008
Chicken coop was built and donated by the Journey Church in Madison, Wisconsin. This is important because it will provide the children food and will teach them farming skills.
The Journey delivered clothes, toys, blankets, and hygiene products for the children. Donations were made by people and churches in Jerome, ID; Green Bay, Superior, and Madison, WI.
Beautiful Child 2007
December 2007 - Christmas gifts were donated to th children by a couple who heard that we were working with Faith Orphanage. I have no idea how he heard about the Sponsorship Program, but it is clear to me that God is doing things in a way that only He can get the glory.
New shoes and toys were donated by Magic Valley Evangelical Free Church.

November 2007
Shared at a public school in Janesville, WI where a high school class is now sponsoring two children.
Spoke at ladies lunch at a church in Madison about the sponsorship program.

September 2007
Sponsorship Program video was made and donated by Shelby Falk. This video was an important tool needed to share with people about the sponsorship program.
With the video made, we were able to start sharing in churches. During this time, we shared at four churches, a youth group, and a Christian school. God opened the heart of many people to take part in Beautiful Child. We were able to start sending money for the children. The money that came in was used to pay for the school teacher, buy food, water, and electricity.
May 2007
Trip to Haiti to gather information about the children and the Orphanage.
Garden project. We planted tomatoes, beans, squash, etc. This was a great way to teach the children skills, as well as providing them with food.
The first money donation arrived and we were able to buy food.
